Whole Grain Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

2011 May 20

Yes, I am fully aware I suck at taking pictures. However, one thing I happen to be particularly good at is making bread. I bought a bread machine at Kohl’s a few years ago for $10, and it’s been one of the BEST investments I’ve ever made! This bread is nutritious and delicious, and you definitely won’t feel guilty eating it. This is whole grains to the extreme, with amazing results!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread (adapted from AllRecipes.com)

  • 1.5t salt
  • 2.25t yeast (one packet)
  • 1/2C flax seeds
  • 1/2C shelled, unsalted sunflower seeds

Directions for 2lb. loaf

  1. Place water, butter, and honey into the bread machine pan first
  2. Place the remaining ingredients, except the yeast, into the pan
  3. Make a well in the dry ingredients with your fingers and pour in the yeast.
