Real. Fresh. SALSA!!!

A few weeks (okay, more like over a month) ago, we had a party for our small group. Yes, there was drinking, but more importantly–there was salsa (and chips). I promised some of our [awesome] small group members I’d put the recipe up on my blog. Yes, I know–it took forever, but guess what? Here it is! This recipe is the culmination of tons of experimenting, but I’ve finally got it down to a science. This salsa is incredible and, more importantly, will blow you away. I’m not quite sure what the style is called, but I really like to (sort of) puree it–the salsa becomes awesome for dipping. Click below for the full recipe!

Perfect[ed] Salsa

  • 1/2 Red Onion
  • Shitload/nearly an entire bunch of cilantro (don’t blame me if your palate blows)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2-3 jalapeno peppers (adjust to your level of spiciness)
  • Juice of 1 lime (I know, I cheated in the picture)
  • 2 14.5oz cans stewed tomatoes, no salt (if possible), drained
  1. Cut up the half of the onion and jalapenos and place into a food processor. Process until finely chopped
  2. Dump in the two cans of tomatoes and process until pureed
  3. Add garlic, lime juice and cilantro. Process until fully mixed
  4. Place in refrigerator and chill–it tastes better when it’s cold. Way better!
  5. Share and impress everyone you know, unless they dislike cilantro! In that case, you probably don’t want to associate yourself with those people.
